For Many a year, few humans saw what really lived in the forest beside their village. Everyone thought the village was haunted with spirits that would take people away while they slept in their homes. Most thought that if anyone adventured into the forest that they would never be seen again. No one adventured in nor did anyone go near there. Even their king thought ill of the forest. He would allow no one to enter unless given reason. And only if it was a good reason. There were many meetings among the villagers about the forest if they should visit this god forsaken place or leave it alone.
The forest itself never grew old nor did it stay young. It stood there hiding what lived inside the forest. It hid mountains, rivers, homes. Homes you might ask. Homes of elves. Bulit out of the finest materials that elves could find. Some were made with stone some with wood. Some are very skilled at making them right out of the mountains themselves. Many elves watched as the humans walked by the trees looking into the darkness wondering what hid inside. The trees felt like a massive castle keeping everyone safe and sound. Yet the trees weren't doing just that. The trees were being cut down by humans so they could keep their families warm at night during the cold winter months. With the forest starting to get cut down more elves move further into the mountains and caves.
When it gets unbearable for the elves to handle such stress on their land, a group of six elves come out of the forest for the first time in a few hundered years. Villagers shocked at the sight of it as the elves find their way walking up to the King bearing a gift for stopping the cutting of the trees. As they walk by they see the looks of the humans their shocked faces, the surprises they've seen from the forest. If it wasn't for the elves heading to the castle they might have been hanged or fight their way to death to survive the humans attacking them. Their gift was something rare and very special to the elves. Not very many left let alone the reptiles to reproduce them. With the offering of the gift they ask the human king to stop the cutting of the trees and to accept their gift as they want no war between the elves and humans. Since the elves would know who would win the battle.
With the gift accepted the king calls on the guards of the castle having them surround the elves ready for them the be marched off somewhere hidden and not back to their homeland. Elves feeling threaten release their swords and battle leaving one holding the egg of one of the last dragon eggs in the hands of elves.
Its been a hundred years since that accident happened. The elves got out alright all expect one. The Elf King's only son and first born child. With great anger the king rages through the night commanding every soldier and servant to keep an eye on the fortress making sure no humans get away if they attack and to bring them forward for questioning. The King won't sleep until his son is brought home. The rest of his family hide from his anger not daring to stop in his path if he's in a bad mood. Lucky for him he has the gift that he was going to give to the humans still. None of his men were stupid enough to give it to the human king.
The Elf prince sleeps in a cell at night and wanders around during the day guarded by human guards. He is tortured most days in trying to reveal where his home is hidden, but he doesn't answer. He would rather die that give away his kind's living grounds. The king from 100 hundred years past's great grandson rules the kingdom of humans risking his life to find the home of the elves hidden from sight. He sends men into the forest to see only two or none come back alive. He is in rage by this madness.
What can stop this madness that threatens both kingdoms? Shall they have to solve their problems by going to war or talking it out? Most would rather have the other king die depending which side you are on.
